This role supports the Purchasing Manager in overseeing material procurement, cost estimation, and inventory management for a steel fabrication plant. It ensures material availability, cost efficiency, and compliance with quality and scheduling requirements. The Assistant Manager also steps in fully during the Managers absence.

Key Responsibilities
- Source raw materials and MRO supplies to meet job schedules and minimize cost
- Manage material inventory, including purchasing, receiving, scrap, and cycle counts
- Apply ASTM A6 standards and Tekla EPM for accurate purchasing and inventory
- Lead purchasing team and maintain accurate pricing data and mill test records
- Oversee freight logistics, material flow, and cutting bills for production
- Coordinate with accounting for invoice approvals and payments
- Ensure system and physical alignment of inventory
- Bachelors degree in a materials management-related field
- Minimum 5 years of steel or related industry experience
- At least 5 years of purchasing experience and 1 year in a supervisory role
- Proficiency in ASTM A6 standards and Tekla EPM
- Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills
