Prevention Specialist
This position helps reduce alcohol and drug risk factors for students in Clackamas county middle schools by providing evidence-based prevention and early intervention services.
What you’ll do
· Work with students at various Clackamas County middle schools in order to reduce community, school, peer, and individual risk factors such as truancy, poor school performance, alcohol and drug use, negative student behavior, negative peer association, etc.
- Work with a case-load of at least 10 students at each of the assigned schools in order to provide case coordination and screenings.
- Meet with each of the assigned students at least once every two weeks in order to provide case coordination and resource referrals.
- Develop goals and an individualized support plan for each of the assigned students and their families.
- Participate in meetings where at-risk youth issues are discussed with school staff.
- Provide (or assist) evidence-based prevention classes at each of the assigned schools on a quarterly basis.
- On a weekly basis provide prevention training to small groups at each of the assigned schools.
Who you are:
· High school diploma or equivalent is required.
· Experience working with youth in school settings is preferred.
· Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.

This position requires the use of a personal vehicle and a minimum level of insurance coverage for that vehicle.

· Personal liability insurance with $50,000 for bodily injury per person, with an aggregate of $100,000 per accident, or
· $100,000 combined single limit (bodily injury and property damage combined)
Pay: $26.00 per hour
