Position Summary
Northland Learning Center is seeking a motivated and student-focused Transition Program Teacher
to serve students ages 1822 receiving special education services. This position focuses on preparing
students for post-secondary success through instruction in independent living, employment, and community participation.

Position Summary
Northland Learning Center is seeking a motivated and student-focused Transition Program Teacher
to serve students ages 1822 receiving special education services. This position focuses on preparing
students for post-secondary success through instruction in independent living, employment, and community participation.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement transition-focused instruction aligned with IEP goals and post-secondary outcomes
- Provide instruction in areas such as:
- Employment readiness and job skills
- Independent living and daily living skills
- Community access and social skills
- Coordinate and supervise community-based instruction and work experiences
- Collaborate with employers, community agencies, and adult service providers
- Develop and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including transition plans
- Maintain compliance with state and federal special education requirements
- Collect and analyze student data to guide instruction and programming
- Work collaboratively with paraprofessionals, related service providers, families, and case managers
- Valid Minnesota teaching license in Special Education (preferred areas: ASD, EBD, SLD, or ABS) or ability to obtain
- Experience working with transition-age students (1822) preferred
- Knowledge of transition planning, community-based instruction, and vocational programming
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to build partnerships with community businesses and agencies
- Salary based on the 20262027 Master Agreement (Schedule B)
- Placement on salary schedule based on education and experience
