Summary: The Spanish Language Interpreter provides accurate and professional oral interpretation services between Spanish and English to support effective communication between staff and individuals with limited English proficiency. This position works on an as-needed basis and may support meetings, appointments, community interactions, or other official functions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Provide clear and accurate oral interpretation (Spanish ? English) in consecutive or simultaneous format as appropriate.
- Facilitate communication between staff and clients, families, or community members.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all interpreted information. ? Preserve the tone, intent, and meaning of the original speaker.
- Coordinate scheduling assignments with the designated teacher or director ? Perform related duties as assigned within the scope of the classification. Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Demonstrated fluency in Spanish and English (oral proficiency required).
- Prior interpretation experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities ? Strong verbal communication skills in both languages.
- Ability to interpret accurately and impartially.
- Cultural competency and sensitivity.
- Ability to maintain professionalism in potentially sensitive or confidential situations.
- Part-time, intermittent schedule (15 hours per week).
- Work may occur in person, by phone, or virtually.
- Schedule varies based on departmental needs
