Position Summary
Northland Learning Center is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Emotional/Behavioral Disorders (EBD) Special Education Teacher
to support students with significant social, emotional, and behavioral needs. The successful candidate will provide specialized instruction,
implement behavior interventions and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure student success.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct instruction aligned with IEP goals for students with EBD
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Utilize evidence-based behavioral interventions and de-escalation strategies
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state and federal special education requirements
- Collaborate with general education staff, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
- Create a structured, supportive, and trauma-informed classroom environment
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and district initiatives
- Valid Minnesota teaching license in Emotional/Behavioral Disorders (EBD) or ability to obtain
- Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills
- Knowledge of special education law and due process requirements
- Experience working with students with intensive behavioral needs preferred
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training or willingness to obtain
- Salary based on the 20262027 Master Agreement (Schedule B)
- Placement on salary schedule based on education and experience
