A Day in the Life
In this role, the Administrative Assistant manages key administrative processes that keep NMH Summer and auxiliary programs running smoothly. Responsibilities include handling daily communications, supporting student application and enrollment workflows, maintaining accurate records and databases, and coordinating billing and documentation in partnership with Accounting.
The Administrative Assistant also assists with marketing coordination and website updates, supports academic reporting and attendance tracking during the summer term, and works across departments to ensure required documentation, training, and compliance needs are met. Required Skills and Qualifications
At least five years of administrative experience in an educational or comparable environment
Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse constituencies
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including strong editing ability
Excellent organizational and decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
High attention to detail and strong follow-through
Technological ability to problem-solve using Microsoft and Google Suite, spreadsheets, and additional office management systems (including RAVENNA, EDUCATE, TADS, Clarity, ASANA, Canvas, and REACH).
Valid driver’s license and willingness to obtain a DOT certification if required
Schedule and Physical Requirements
Full-time, calendar-year position
Occasional nights and weekends, especially during the NMH Summer session
Ability to remain stationary and work at a computer for extended periods
Ability to perform tasks requiring sustained attention and information processing in a busy office environment
Ability to move up to 25 pounds
This is an in-office position.
