A Day in the Life:
The Housekeeper/Custodian at Northfield Mount Hermon begins each day by ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of school buildings. This individual is responsible for cleaning and disinfecting restroom facilities and fixtures using approved methods, as well as promptly clearing snow from adjacent steps and sidewalks using appropriate tools such as brooms and shovels, and occasionally assisting with leaf raking. Supervising work-job students, this person assigns tasks, provides training, and ensures compliance with work program guidelines. Additionally, the Housekeeper/Custodian maintains inventory of cleaning supplies and ensures their efficient use, alongside managing equipment maintenance to uphold safety standards. This individual may undertake specialized projects, such as floor stripping and waxing, as well as carpet and upholstery cleaning. Punctuality and adherence to school safety policies are prioritized, reflecting this person's commitment to maintaining a safe and clean environment for students and employees alike.

Valid Driver’s License and ability to operate motorized vehicles required

Preferred Qualifications:
Some custodial experience is desirable.
Previous experience at a school or working with adolescents
This is an on-site position.
We are hiring for a custodial shift Tuesday - Saturday. Hours are typically 6 AM - 2:30 PM.
This position is 40 hours a week.
