Lifeguard (Part-Time, 2025–2026 School Year)
Northfield Mount Hermon (NMH) seeks a part-time Lifeguard to provide pool coverage during the 2025–2026 school year. This position plays a key role in ensuring the safety of students and community members in the pool. A Day in the Life
The Lifeguard is responsible for monitoring the pool at all times, promoting a safe swimming environment, and maintaining proper safety protocols while the facility is in use. Additional responsibilities include securing the pool safety equipment and closing the pool properly after each shift. Hours will vary by season, including regular weekday coverage and occasional weekend swim meets.
Required Skills and Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Current American Red Cross certifications: Lifeguard Training, Water Safety, First Aid, and AED/CPR for the Professional Rescuer
Strong commitment to safety and ability to remain alert and attentive
Schedule
Please note: If you are unable to cover the entire schedule, we are hiring multiple lifeguards to meet our needs. Be sure to include your availability in your application.
Fall 2025
Mondays, 4:00–5:30 p.m. (excluding school holidays)
Winter 2025–2026 (November 10, 2025–March 6, 2026; excluding holidays and school breaks)
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 4:00–6:45 p.m.
Varsity practice: 4:00–5:35 p.m.
JV practice: 5:35–6:35 p.m.
Wednesday: TBD (practice 1:00–4:00 p.m. or swim meet)
Saturday: TBD (morning practice 9:00–11:00 a.m. or afternoon meet lasting 3–4 hours)
NMH typically hosts 5–7 home Varsity meets and 3–4 home JV meets per season.
This is an in-person position.
