Shift - Nights (1900-0730) every other weekend
Job Summary
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse, where your expertise will directly impact patient recovery and well-being. In this vital role, you will provide specialized nursing care to patients transitioning from intensive care to less acute settings, ensuring seamless care coordination, accurate assessments, and compassionate support.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the progressive care unit, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing complex medical conditions such as cardiac, neurological, or respiratory issues.
- Conduct detailed patient assessments, including physical examinations and physiological evaluations, to inform individualized care plans.
- Utilize EHR systems for accurate documentation of patient data, medical records, and treatment progress.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate discharge planning and ensure continuity of care across settings.
- Perform specialized procedures such as IV infusions, suturing, catheterization, tube feeding management, and aseptic techniques to support patient recovery.
- Respond swiftly to acute changes in patient condition using critical care response procedures; manage airway interventions and ventilator support when necessary.
- Educate patients and their families on health management strategies including pain management techniques, medication administration, and post-discharge instructions to promote health literacy.
Requirements
- Valid RN license in the state of OR.
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
- NIHSS certification.
- PCU and basic EKG experience preferred.
