Job Overview
The Distribution Project Engineer supports the planning, design, and execution of gas infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for project scoping, engineering design, cost estimation, regulatory compliance, and construction support for both new and replacement pipeline assets.
The engineer collaborates with Project Management, Operations, and external vendors to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards, including 49 CFR Part 192, as well as internal company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage project scopes for gas infrastructure projects
- Prepare engineering designs, drawings, and service spreadsheets
- Conduct research on existing asset and system data
- Perform cost estimating and support budgeting activities
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards
- Prepare and review operating procedures and documentation
- Support construction activities and provide field engineering assistance
- Maintain and update project tracking tools and status reports
- Prepare Stage Gate documentation for project approvals
- Participate in cross-functional team meetings, trainings, and coordination sessions

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
Preferred Skills
- Basic understanding of gas distribution systems (nice to have)
- Familiarity with engineering standards and compliance requirements
