Title: Medical Device Repair Technician - Infusion Pump Service
Duration: 12 months contract
Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Shift: Standard Business Hours
Position Summary
• Perform repair, refurbishment, and investigation of infusion pumps and related medical devices.
• Troubleshoot and analyze device failures to determine root cause at component level.
• Support product complaint investigations (PCI) and ensure accurate documentation in systems.
• Contribute to quality compliance, training, and continuous improvement activities.
Responsibilities
• Perform routine and complex repair, rework, refurbishment, and upgrades of medical devices
• Troubleshoot returned devices and identify root cause issues
• Perform Level 0 and Level 1 Product Complaint Investigations (PCI)
• Document repair activities, labor, materials, and complaint details in Oracle system
• Support out-of-box failure analysis and yield improvement initiatives
• Assist with engineering studies and investigations
• Work with QA, Customer Service, and Global Complaint teams to resolve issues
• Provide on-the-job training support for new employees
• Maintain compliance with cGMP and quality system regulations
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Support special projects as required
Qualifications
Education:
• High School diploma or GED required
• Associate degree in a technical discipline preferred
Experience:
• 1-3 years of experience in high-tech manufacturing, service repair, or related field
• Hands-on experience repairing electronic or electro-mechanical equipment
• Experience working with PCBs, circuit boards, or small devices preferred
Skills:
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
• Ability to repair at component level
• Experience with soldering and testing equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes)
• Ability to read schematics and technical drawings
• Knowledge of cGMP and quality systems
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and quality focus
Additional Preferred Experience:
• Experience repairing consumer electronics (gaming consoles, appliances, etc.)
• Hands-on DIY or hobby electronics experience
• Experience with hardware/software integration or interface rebuilding
Additional Requirements:
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Travel up to 25%
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
• Service repair hub environment
• High level of manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required
• Ability to lift 30-40 lbs
