Job Summary
This engineering role supports the full lifecycle of gas infrastructure projects — from initial planning and design through construction and closeout. The position is responsible for project scoping, engineering design, cost estimating, regulatory compliance, and field construction support for both new and replacement pipeline assets. Working as an individual contributor within a close-knit, six-person engineering group, this engineer manages their own portfolio of projects while collaborating closely with a dedicated Project Management team, Operations personnel, and external vendors. All work is performed in alignment with 49 CFR Part 192 and internal company standards, with a strong emphasis on safety, efficiency, and quality delivery. This is a hybrid role based out of the Lipan Distribution Center in Denver, Colorado, with in-office presence expected Tuesday through Thursday.
Responsibilities
Support planning, design, and execution of gas infrastructure projects including new and replacement pipeline assets
Prepare and maintain engineering design drawings and service spreadsheets
Develop project scoping documents, cost estimates, and Stage Gate documentation
Research and evaluate existing asset information to inform design decisions
Prepare and review operating procedures in compliance with 49 CFR Part 192 and internal standards
Maintain and update project tracking lists with current status and milestones
Attend and contribute to cross-functional team meetings, coordination meetings, trainings, and staff meetings
Coordinate with Project Management, Operations, and external vendors throughout the project lifecycle
Conduct field visits to project locations to support planning efforts and construction activities
Adhere to all safety protocols and wear required PPE during field work
Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD or a comparable CAD software platform
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
Analytical problem-solving ability with attention to detail
Self-motivated with the ability to independently manage a personal project portfolio
Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and track multiple concurrent tasks
Collaborative mindset with a willingness to support teammates in a small team environment
Experience
No prior professional experience required — entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply
Familiarity with pipeline or gas infrastructure engineering concepts is a plus
Any academic project, internship, or co-op experience involving engineering design or CAD drafting is beneficial
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
