Duties
You will prepare and paint automotive and heavy construction equipment, ISO containers, parts, fiberglass boats and/or other components.You will determine method, techniques, devices and material needed to paint equipmentYou will prepare and paint automotive and heavy construction equipment with professional results.You will monitor and appropriately dispose of cleaning, thinning coating and waste materials.You will ensure work is completed in compliance with all safety regulations.You will ensure plans, blueprints, materials, and tools are readily available.You will place templates and stencils for insignia, numerals, letters and other markings.
Qualifications
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Must possess knowledge how to prepare and paint automotive and heavy construction equipment. Must possess knowledge regarding mixes, thins, blends, matches, tints and tones to include CARC paints, Low-VOC polyurethanes requiring catalyst, urethanes, accelerators etc. Must know how to apply various paints to prepped surfaces with various methods including HVLP paint guns. Must know how to perform body work, conduct repair to various surfaces to include metal surfaces with DA sander, air file, needle gun etc. Ability to paint insignias, markings, or other identifications and applies decals. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. This position is subject to perform shift work. This position is subject to work overtime or be "called back". Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees.
