Job Type: Full-Time Contract

Location: Novi, MI 48374

Start Date: October 3, 2026

End Date: January 3, 2027- with possible extension

Schedule: 40 hours/week | 5 days/week | 8 hours/day

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub for general surgical procedures.
• Prepare the operating room, surgical tables, instruments, and supplies according to the procedure.
• Ensure surgical instruments and equipment are functioning properly before use.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures.
• Assist with patient preparation, transportation, admission, transfer, and discharge from the OR.
• Assist the RN and surgical team with patient-care activities.
• Maintain sterile technique and follow infection-control and safety standards.
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations according to established procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized operating-room environment.
• Clean, stock, and return equipment and supplies to designated locations.
• Deliver necessary supplies to surgical and ancillary departments.
• Handle surgical instruments and sterile supplies appropriately and cost-effectively.
• Maintain patient and departmental confidentiality.
• Participate in quality assurance activities, audits, education, and department programs.
• Assist leadership with supply-level adjustments and efficient inventory management.
• May train or precept new Surgical Technologists within the assigned area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience.
• Previous experience in Neuro (Spine & Brain) OR Orthopedic (Total Joints) surgery.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA), or ability to obtain BLS within one month of starting.
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
• Ability to lift and move patients.
• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift case carts, instrument trays, and equipment.
• Ability to work in a patient-care environment with potential exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous gases, unpleasant odors, and acute patient conditions.
