We’re seeking a strategic and hands-on Regional Vice President to lead a large, high-profile affordable housing portfolio across Miami-Dade County. This is a highly visible leadership role overseeing 40 communities (~6,000 units), where you’ll drive operational excellence, ensure regulatory compliance, and develop high-performing teams. With significant autonomy, you’ll play a key role in shaping performance, strengthening operations, and enhancing the resident experience across a diverse portfolio of affordable, workforce, RAD, PVB, and mixed-income assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic oversight for a portfolio of 40 communities, ensuring strong operational and financial performance
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Regional Property Managers (typically 5 direct reports)
- Maintain and maximize asset value by ensuring properties are well-maintained, capital plans are executed, and building systems are preserved
- Partner with Facilities and Maintenance teams to prioritize repairs, prevent violations, and extend asset life cycles
- Oversee lease-ups and ongoing re-rentals, ensuring timely execution and sustained occupancy
- Drive revenue performance, including achieving a target of 95% rent collection
- Ensure full compliance with LIHTC, HUD, and all applicable regulatory requirements
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service agreements to ensure quality, efficiency, and resident satisfaction
- Oversee the use of social services, rental assistance programs, and legal remedies to support housing stability
- Foster strong resident relations through proactive communication, community-building initiatives, and effective grievance processes
- Lead annual budgeting in partnership with central operations and finance teams; manage expenses to budget and identify opportunities for optimization
- Utilize property management and accounting systems (RealPage/OneSite) to analyze performance, identify trends, and drive data-informed decisions
- Support ownership in rehabilitation planning and capital improvement initiatives
Required:
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in property management
- Proven experience at the Regional Manager or AVP level within affordable housing
- Deep expertise in LIHTC and HUD regulations
- Required tax credit and HUD certifications
- Preferred:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Experience with RealPage/OneSite
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
- Based in or willing to work onsite in Miami-Dade or Broward County
- Oversight of ~40 properties and approximately 6,000 units, primarily located in Miami-Dade
- Corporate office based in Weston, FL
- High level of autonomy with strong executive support
