Position Overview
Location: In-House Only – Missoula, Montana
Reports To: Supply Chain Manager
Montana Knife Company is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist to
support our growing manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for sourcing, purchasing,
and managing materials and components required to support production while maintaining
strong supplier relationships, cost controls, and on-time delivery.
The ideal candidate is organized, data-driven, and comfortable working with production,
engineering, and vendors in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Source materials, components, and services while balancing cost, quality, and lead time
- Create, issue, and manage purchase orders to support production schedules
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing, and vendor information
- Track open POs and proactively communicate delivery status and potential delays
- Work closely with production and planning teams to ensure material availability
- Support vendor negotiations, lead times, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist with inventory management and demand planning as needed
- Identify supply risks and help develop mitigation strategies
- Ensure procurement activities align with company policies and quality standards
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain (manufacturing and outdoor industry preferred)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, both internal and external
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel
- Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills
