Quality Control Microbiologist

Our client, a rapidly growing manufacturer in the health and wellness industry, is seeking a Quality Control Microbiologist to join their Quality team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on microbiology professional looking to make a direct impact on product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This role offers exposure to a broad range of microbiological testing activities and the opportunity to work cross-functionally with Quality, Production, and R&D teams in support of innovative consumer products.
Key Responsibilities- Perform microbiological testing of raw materials, components, and finished products according to established procedures and specifications.
- Conduct microbial enumeration, identification, water quality testing, and method validation activities.
- Support Out of Specification (OOS) investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Maintain laboratory documentation, test records, and Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
- Manage sample receipt, tracking, storage, and retention activities.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including autoclaves, incubators, and analytical instruments.
- Ensure compliance with cGMP, FDA, and quality system requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support quality initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
- Hands-on microbiology laboratory experience within a regulated environment.
- Experience with microbial testing, identification methods, and laboratory documentation.
- Knowledge of cGMP, FDA regulations, and quality systems.
- Experience supporting investigations, deviations, or CAPA activities is highly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and documentation practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
