Compensation: $95,000 – $110,000
A growing manufacturer of precision-engineered industrial equipment is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support CNC machining operations, process optimization, and new equipment implementation. This role is critical to maintaining production efficiency while supporting the manufacturing of precision-machined components in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will possess strong CNC programming expertise, experience with Mazak and Haas machining centers, and the ability to troubleshoot complex machining and manufacturing challenges. This individual will work closely with Engineering, Production, and Maintenance to improve machining processes, reduce downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesManufacturing Process DevelopmentDevelop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes for precision-machined components.
Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs for Mazak and Haas machining centers.
Improve machining efficiency through cycle time reduction, tooling optimization, and process improvements.
Develop work instructions, setup documentation, and standardized manufacturing procedures.
Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs using Fusion 360 (preferred) or comparable CAM software.
Support machine setup, prove-outs, first article inspections, and production launches.
Troubleshoot machining issues including tolerances, tool wear, chatter, and surface finish concerns.
Partner with machinists to improve program repeatability and machining performance.
Identify, specify, source, and order tooling for production machining operations.
Determine fixture requirements and coordinate with vendors on fixture development.
Support implementation of tooling and fixturing improvements to increase manufacturing efficiency.
Manage relationships with tooling and fixture suppliers.
Diagnose CNC machine issues involving Mazak and Haas equipment.
Partner with Maintenance to resolve mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues.
Identify root causes of downtime and implement corrective actions.
Support newly installed CNC equipment and assist with production transition activities.
Provide hands-on troubleshooting support on the manufacturing floor.
Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions.
Support quality initiatives while ensuring adherence to engineering specifications and GD&T requirements.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models.
Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives including 5S, Kaizen, and process mapping.
Improve KPIs including cycle time, OEE, scrap reduction, and tool life.
Drive cost reduction and operational efficiency projects.
Improve legacy CNC programs to enhance machining performance and repeatability.
3–7 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in a precision machining environment.
Strong CNC programming experience using Fusion 360 (preferred), Mastercam, CamWorks, or SolidWorks CAM.
Hands-on experience with Mazak and Haas CNC machining centers.
Ability to create and modify CNC programs from engineering drawings and 3D models.
Experience selecting, sourcing, and implementing tooling and fixturing.
Strong understanding of G-code programming and CNC machining processes.
Experience troubleshooting machining and manufacturing issues.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (equivalent experience considered).
Experience manufacturing rotating equipment or precision industrial components.
Familiarity with pump components such as impellers, shafts, and housings.
CAD experience with SolidWorks or similar software.
Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
