Required Skills:
- 5–10 years of experience in hollow metal door and frame manufacturing, including shop floor production and quality inspection or engineering.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes, sheet metal fabrication, and manufacturing tolerances.
- Deep understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and blueprint reading.
- Proficiency with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and weld gauges.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings, tolerance requirements, and metal construction standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with structured methods like 5 Whys and fishbone diagrams.
- Ability to operate independently, make quick judgments, and communicate clearly with operators and supervisors.
- Familiarity with SAP quality modules and data systems for defect traceability and reporting.
- Demonstrated authority to stop production when necessary and drive corrective actions.
- Certifications such as AWS welding inspection or ASQ quality certifications.
- Experience working within SAP S/4HANA or similar ERP systems.
- Exposure to high-mix, low-volume production environments.
- Knowledge of fire-rated assemblies, UL, ANSI, and SDI standards.
- Experience in a custom or engineer-to-order manufacturing setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience in quality leadership roles within manufacturing.
