Compensation Accounting Associate – New York, NY (Hybrid, 3 Days/Week Onsite)

This high-impact role sits within the Finance group on the Production Compensation team and offers meaningful visibility to senior leadership and multiple cross-functional partners. You’ll support the end-to-end compensation process for Global Institutional and Intermediary sales teams, driving accuracy, insight, and operational efficiency across a mission-critical function.

The Finance team partners closely with groups such as Payroll, Client Billing, Fund Administration, Human Capital Management, Client Coverage Management, and Technology to ensure compensation processes run smoothly while supporting strategic and operational goals.
What You’ll Do
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual processing of production-based compensation calculations with a high degree of accuracy.
- Review, validate, and distribute detailed compensation statements to sales teams across the firm.
- Conduct root-cause analysis for payout variances and deliver clear, data-backed explanations to senior coverage leaders.
- Prepare compensation trend analyses, reporting packages, and forecasts for management review.
- Record compensation expense entries, assess P&L impacts, and complete balance sheet reconciliations.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in compensation accounting or a related accounting/finance role.
- Commission-based compensation experience is required.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, revenue/expense impacts, and reconciliation processes.
- Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical capability and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working with diverse internal stakeholders.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Compensation
- Base salary: $110,000 – $140,000
- Bonus: 20% – 25% target
- Comprehensive benefits and a hybrid schedule (3 days per week onsite in NYC)
