Position Description
Minimum qualifications
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification
- Excellent people skills
- Climbing wall experience preferred
- Must be a current MSU student
- Must be able to work well as a team player and independently
- Must demonstrate good customer service skills
Responsibilities
- Check climbers in and out of the climbing wall area
- Monitor climbers for safe technique and proper behavior
- Enforce climbing wall policies, procedures, and rules
- Care, maintenance, cleaning, and inspection; on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis; of the climbing wall, climbing wall equipment, and the climbing room itself
- Checkout, track, and check in harnesses, shoes, and belay devices to climbing wall participants
- Climbing/belay instruction and route setting with proper training
- Inspect equipment prior to wall use or condition and refuse use of any inappropriate equipment
- Provide belay for participants when necessary
- Insure all paperwork and liability waivers are on file
- Participate in all scheduled meetings/trainings and other projects and duties assigned
Compensation
- $10/hr
