We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Quality System Technician to join our Quality Department. This entry-level role supports the implementation and maintenance of our ISO 9001:2015 compliant Quality Management System (QMS). What You’ll Do
- Assist in developing, maintaining, and improving the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Perform inspections and testing of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure they meet established specifications and pass/fail criteria.
- Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify product conformity.
- Monitor and measure internal processes that impact product quality.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and analyze quality-related data.
- Support internal audits, corrective actions, and complaint investigations.
- Assist with calibration and verification of monitoring and measuring equipment.
- Collaborate with employees, contractors, and customers to clarify product requirements.
- Report QMS performance metrics and improvement opportunities to Quality Management.
- Stay current on applicable quality standards, regulatory requirements, and industry developments.
- Promote and support workplace safety by ensuring adherence to safety policies and proper use of PPE.
Performance Expectations
- Maintain compliance with all QMS policies and ISO requirements.
- Complete required training within established timeframes.
- Perform inspections and quality tasks accurately and on schedule.
- Contribute to departmental goals related to accuracy, productivity, compliance, and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
- Basic understanding of quality systems and inspection processes (experience with ISO 9001:2015 preferred).
- Familiarity with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to read and interpret written instructions, specifications, and numerical data.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to follow policies and procedures consistently.
- Comfortable working independently and in a team environment.
- Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office; QMS software experience a plus).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout office, warehouse, and production areas.
- Ability to lift up to 50–60 pounds unassisted on occasion.
- Ability to operate a computer and standard office equipment.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license without significant restrictions.
- Ability to travel as needed using various forms of transportation.
Work Environment
This position operates in both a professional office setting and an industrial manufacturing environment. The production floor may be noisy and requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel-toed footwear, eye protection, hearing protection, and other safety gear as required.
