Location: Birmingham, Alabama
A well-established pipe, valve, and fitting (PVF) distributor is seeking an Outside Sales Representative based in the Birmingham area to develop and grow business across Central Alabama.
This role focuses on building relationships with industrial plants, contractors, and maintenance teams by providing critical piping and flow control products that keep facilities operating safely and efficiently.
The company has built a strong reputation in the PVF distribution market, supporting customers with responsive service, deep product availability, and technical expertise. This position offers the opportunity for an experienced sales professional to grow a territory while becoming a trusted resource to customers across the region.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and grow an established territory in Birmingham, AL
Develop relationships with maintenance managers, plant engineers, and purchasing teams
Identify new business opportunities within manufacturing and industrial facilities
Conduct regular customer visits to support product selection, applications, and ongoing service needs
Partner with inside sales and operations teams to ensure strong customer support
Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through order fulfillment
Products & Solutions
Pipe, valves, and fittings (PVF), industrial valves and flow control products, pipe supports and accessories, flanges, gaskets, fasteners, and related piping components
Qualifications
3 years of outside sales experience in industrial distribution or manufacturing
Experience selling PVF products or related piping / plumbing components strongly preferred
Comfortable calling on plant managers, maintenance teams, and engineers
Strong relationship-building and consultative selling skills
Self-motivated with the ability to manage a territory independently
