Contribute to product and service solutions that achieve desired consumer, business, and organizational outcomes. Use a broad range of qualitative and quantitative research methods, including generative and evaluative research studies. Evaluate customer insights, identify opportunities, and help develop, iterate, and operationalize solutions to achieve effective designs and environments. Collaborate with cross functional teams throughout all phases of the product development and servicing lifecycles to ensure the right data is being collected to positively impact the product direction. Conduct mixed methods research to inform product design, which may include usability studies, heuristic evaluations, interviews, contextual inquiry, focus groups, surveys, user journey maps, UX health studies, and personas. Identify, promote, and pursue research opportunities that help Microsoft maintain its competitive edge and produce world-class technologies. 

Minimum Requirements

Education: Master’s or foreign equivalent in User Experience (UX) Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Instructional Design, or a related field. Experience: 6 months of experience in a user experience occupation. Requires 6 months of experience in each of the following: • User Experience (UX) design and research; • Quantitative research, qualitative research, and research writing; • User Acceptance Testing; • Data analysis; • Distillation of results; • Designing and delivering primary user research aimed at understanding user needs and defining good experiences through the customer journey; • Collecting and analyzing user behavior through formative and evaluative usability studies, in depth interviews, surveys, and benchmark studies; • Synthesizing research findings from data sources such as primary research, market research, and site analytics, and communicating insights to impact product direction; and • Providing research insights through written reports and in-person presentations. Multiple job openings. Pay Range and Benefits Information

The offered base pay range for this specific position (ODP10025202189861), in Mountain View, CA, is $143,100.00 - $173,100.00 per year.

 

Microsoft has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. Individual base pay depend on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.

 

At Microsoft certain roles are eligible for additional reward, including merits increases, annual bonus, and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employer’s role. Benefits/perks listed may vary depending on the nature of employment with Microsoft and the country work location. U.S.-based employees have access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, and wellbeing benefits, among others. U.S.-based employees also receive, per calendar year, up to 10 scheduled paid holidays, and up to 80 hours Holistic Health time Off. Additionally, hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid vacation time, and salaried/exempt employees have Discretionary Time Off (DTO).
