Fire Alarm & Security Technician
Pay: $24.00 – $35.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: On-call rotation required
Expected Hours: 40–50 hours per week
Location: Reno, NV (in-person)
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm & Security Technician to install, service, and maintain life safety and low-voltage systems. This role requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, program, inspect, service, and maintain:
- Fire alarm systems
- Intrusion detection systems
- Access control systems
- Video surveillance systems
- Troubleshoot system issues and perform accurate diagnostics
- Conduct inspections, testing, and documentation in compliance with NFPA standards
- Run, route, and terminate low-voltage cabling using industry best practices
- Communicate effectively with customers, contractors, and internal teams
- Maintain tools, equipment, and assigned vehicle in safe working condition
- Follow all company safety procedures, including OSHA guidelines (ladders, lifts, rooftops, confined spaces, electrical safety)
- Participate in an on-call rotation and occasional after-hours service
- Complete service tickets, reports, and daily logs accurately and on time
Qualifications
- Experience with fire alarm and/or low-voltage security systems preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Nevada State F Card preferred
