Material Handler / Forklift Operator

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Material Handler / Forklift Operator to join our team. This role is responsible for building and preparing material orders for customer pick-up and delivery, as well as maintaining an organized and efficient yard environment.

This is an outdoor position requiring the ability to work in various weather conditions while delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and prepare material orders for pick-up and delivery
• Load and unload landscape materials such as sod, pavers, wall systems, decorative rock, soil, and construction aggregates
• Operate equipment including forklifts and front-end loaders
• Assist customers with pick-ups, deliveries, and will-call orders
• Accept and process returned materials into inventory
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard
• Support inventory control and stock management
• Provide excellent customer service to contractors, landscapers, and homeowners
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Prior forklift experience (2 years preferred)
• Ability to learn and identify various types of landscape materials
• Strong basic math skills
• Construction or landscape industry knowledge preferred
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Must be able to read and speak English (Bilingual is a plus)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable

Additional Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Team-oriented with a strong work ethic

Experience

• Forklift Operation: 2 years (Preferred)
