Job Description
The Senior Superintendent - Historic/Gov Projects - DC will:
- Serve as the Lead Superintendent on a $20M historic preservation project with a 12-18 month timeline
- Oversee all field operations, including scheduling, logistics, safety, and quality control
- Manage subcontractors and skilled trades with a hands-on, proactive leadership style
- Coordinate closely with project management, owners, and inspectors on a secure federal site
- Lead work involving historic restoration, exterior façade, scaffolding, and preservation scopes
- Maintain compliance with government, safety, and site access requirements (including badging)
- Support occasional night or off-hour work as required by project phasing
The Successful Applicant
The Senior Superintendent - Historic/Gov Projects - DC will have:
- 7 years of progressive superintendent experience, ideally in historic preservation or restoration
- Proven lead role on at least one project $25M from start to finish
- Experience across new construction, renovation, and restoration environments
- Strong understanding of day-to-day construction operations and sequencing
- Background in skilled trades and/or a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Experience with Procore, P6, and Excel
- Ability to pass background checks and secure government/AOC badging (clearances are a plus)
