Job Description
Title: Associate Director, Manufacturing
Location: Onsite, Southern California
Modality: Fill/Finish CDMO
Metric Bio are partnering with a PE-backed, world-leading CDMO on a search for Associate Director/Director, Manufacturing to take ownership of a key production area within sterile fill/finish operations.
This is a hands-on leadership role focused on building, developing, and leading a high-performing manufacturing team in a fast-paced GMP environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations for a commercial fill line within sterile drug product manufacturing
- Manage and develop a manufacturing team within a GMP environment
- Drive operational execution across vial filling, vial washers, autoclaves, and cleanroom activities
- Ensure compliance with GMP standards and manufacturing procedures
- Take ownership of batch record execution and SOP authoring
- Train, mentor, and develop manufacturing operators and supervisors
- Act as a key interface between Manufacturing, Quality, and Technical Operations
Requirements
- Strong drug product / sterile manufacturing experience (fill/finish essential)
- Hands-on experience with: Vial filling lines, Vial washers, Autoclaves, and Cleanroom operations
- Proven people leadership experience in a GMP manufacturing environment
- Strong communicator with a track record of developing operators and frontline teams
- Comfortable being hands-on in daily operations (batch records, SOPs, floor presence)
- Experience in smaller or mid-sized organisations strongly preferred
