Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Operating Room Technician / Surgical Technician (CST) to join our dynamic surgical team. In this vital role, you will provide essential support during a wide range of surgical procedures, ensuring the safety, efficiency, and success of operative interventions. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of surgical instruments, sterile techniques, and patient care protocols, contributing to optimal outcomes in a fast-paced hospital environment. This position offers an opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team committed to delivering exceptional healthcare services across various specialties.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room by sterilizing and arranging surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment according to aseptic techniques and infection control standards.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, suturing, and managing surgical tools with precision and care.
- Monitor patient vital signs and physiological responses throughout surgeries, ensuring stability and immediate response to any changes.
- Support the handling of complex surgeries including cardiovascular, neurosurgery, orthopedic, trauma care, pediatrics, and endoscopy procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and medical records in compliance with hospital policies.
- Assist with the sterilization and maintenance of medical equipment to uphold safety standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including anesthesiologists, nurses, and physicians to ensure seamless surgical operations.
- Demonstrate proficiency in handling medical equipment operation, analysis skills for troubleshooting issues, and understanding of anatomy and physiology relevant to surgical procedures.
- Contribute to infection prevention efforts through adherence to aseptic techniques and hospital infection control protocols.
- Participate in emergency situations such as trauma or acute care cases by providing critical support under pressure.
Requirements:
- 3 Years of experience as a Surgical Tech/OR tech - Required
- Travel Experience - Required
- NBSTSA or NCCT Certified.
