Tallavera Medical Staffing is seeking an experienced Operating Room Surgical Technologist for a Surgical Center in Rochester, NY. In this role, you will assist during surgical procedures, maintain a sterile field, and support safe, efficient patient care.
To be considered, qualified candidates should have at least one year of OR Surgical Tech experience in an Acute Care setting and a strong foundation of scrubbing on a variety of cases and proficiency in maintaining a sterile environment.
Responsibilities of the Operating Room Surgical Tech:
- Responsible for establishing sterilization of all supplies, instruments and equipment prior to surgical procedures and operations.
- Competency in draping procedures.
- Act as a team player and contribute to the overall goals and objectives of the department.
Requirements of the Operating Room Surgical Tech :
- Completed a surgical technology program -OR-
Grand-Fathering Clause: Provides evidence he or she was employed as a surgical technologist in a healthcare facility for a cumulative period of one year, occurring between 12/31/10 – 12/31/14. -OR-Graduated from a Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)- or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES)- accredited program with a Surgical Technology major AND holds and maintains Certified Surgical Technologist certification from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)within 12 months of graduation.
* Surgical Technologist Certification is not required for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) with current licensure in the State of New York*
