Trailer Maintenance Technician

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Trailer Technician to ensure our fleet operates safely and efficiently. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in trailer maintenance and repair, focusing on brake systems, suspension, and electrical components, to minimize downtime and maximize performance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of trailers to identify and address maintenance needs, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Diagnose and repair complex issues related to trailer brake systems, suspension, lighting, and hydraulics, enhancing overall reliability.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as tire rotations, brake adjustments, and lubrication to extend the lifespan of trailers.
• Maintain accurate records of all inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities, contributing to efficient fleet management.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize trailer performance and minimize downtime, supporting operational goals.
• Troubleshoot and repair manual drive train and axle issues.
• Ensure all repairs meet or exceed safety and performance standards.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• 3 years of experience in trailer maintenance and repair.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing trailer brake, suspension, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in a physically demanding environment.

Preferred Skills

• CDL or related certifications.
• Experience with preventive maintenance planning.
• Familiarity with diesel engine repair.
