About the Role
As a Heavy Duty Fleet Mechanic, you will serve as a critical technical expert responsible for ensuring the reliability and peak performance of our commercial vehicle fleet. You will leverage your deep expertise in advanced diagnostics and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and keep our operations moving efficiently.
Responsibilities- Execute complex diagnostic procedures on heavy-duty engines and powertrain systems to identify and resolve mechanical failures.
- Perform comprehensive preventative maintenance schedules to extend vehicle lifespan and ensure optimal fleet uptime.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic software and scan tools to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Maintain rigorous quality control standards by verifying all repairs meet safety and performance benchmarks.
- Document all service activities accurately to ensure compliance with federal and state transportation regulations.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to streamline repair workflows and improve shop productivity.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a technician working on heavy-duty diesel engines.
- Proficiency in using modern diagnostic equipment and fleet management software.
- Strong understanding of vehicle safety protocols and DOT compliance standards.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Preferred Skills
- ASE Master Medium-Heavy Truck Technician certification.
- Experience with specific engine manufacturers such as Cummins, Detroit, or Volvo.
- Prior experience in a high-volume commercial fleet environment.
- Advanced knowledge of emissions control systems and aftertreatment diagnostics.
