Quality Control Inspector

Role Overview

Your primary responsibility involves verifying that all incoming raw materials, such as plates, beams, and hardware, align perfectly with purchase orders and Mill Test Reports regarding their grade, quantity, and dimensions. You will also conduct thorough in-process and final audits to confirm that fabricated steel components meet all shop drawing specifications, focusing on weld integrity and dimensional precision.

Operational Duties

You will be tasked with interpreting intricate structural blueprints and CAD designs to guarantee that all manufactured parts strictly adhere to the original design intent. Additionally, you are responsible for maintaining comprehensive documentation, including shipping clearances, non-conformance reports, and inspection logs, to ensure complete traceability throughout the production cycle.

Technical Oversight

Your daily workflow will require the use of precision instruments like micrometers, calipers, tape measures, and weld gauges, alongside performing visual assessments of weld quality. You will also manage final pre-shipment evaluations for outgoing freight to ensure that the correct components are loaded and safely secured. Furthermore, you will partner with welders and the shop foreman to address discrepancies immediately, helping to minimize recurring errors and improve overall production efficiency.
