About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Professional to play a pivotal role in our manufacturing operations. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, managing inventory, and providing critical insights into cost accounting. Your expertise in cost analysis, coupled with your ability to collaborate with operations, will drive efficiency and support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Drive inventory accuracy by overseeing physical counts, leading monthly audits, and reconciling perpetual inventory records.
- Deliver timely and accurate monthly financial reports, forecasts, and strategic plans in accordance with corporate guidelines.
- Uphold SOX internal controls, protect company assets, and proactively address control-related matters in partnership with corporate finance.
- Refine standard costs and bills of materials, proactively identifying and resolving production and costing issues through regular plant walkthroughs.
- Contribute to operational effectiveness by participating in production meetings and analyzing labor, material, overhead, distribution expenses, and inventory levels.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Qualifications
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet software and data analysis tools.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy and solve complex problems.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with JD Edwards or other major ERP systems.
- CMA or CPA certification.
- Strong understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance.
