Position Overview
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facility by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing CNC and PLC-controlled equipment. Your expertise will directly support both facility and production activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in both mechanical and electrical systems, demonstrate the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively, and maintain a flexible approach to accommodate off-shift and on-call maintenance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain CNC and PLC-based equipment to maximize uptime and performance.
- Create, implement, and meticulously document preventive maintenance programs for all equipment.
- Pinpoint and resolve issues across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Diagnose equipment failures, utilizing technical manuals and schematics to determine the best repair solutions.
- Participate in the installation, setup, and initial startup of new equipment.
- Fabricate parts and components based on blueprints and technical drawings.
- Repair or replace worn, damaged, or otherwise defective components to ensure equipment longevity.
- Conduct facility maintenance tasks, including roofing, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical distribution work.
- Install conduit, water lines, and air lines as needed.
- Employ proper rigging techniques to move and install production equipment safely.
- Repair or replace refractory materials within slot-type furnaces.
- Provide support to both the Maintenance and Engineering teams on a variety of projects.
- Instruct and guide other maintenance personnel on best practices for equipment care and maintenance.
- Assume responsibility for assigned maintenance personnel and ensure jobs are completed effectively when required.
- Engage in ongoing training programs and take on additional duties as assigned.
Work Environment & Expectations
- Be available for off-shift work, including nights and weekends, as necessary to address maintenance needs.
- Be on-call and responsive to urgent maintenance requests, utilizing a company-provided phone.
- Thrive in a fast-paced industrial setting, adapting to changing priorities and demands.
Qualifications
- Solid background in industrial mechanical and electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting CNC and PLC equipment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with rigging techniques and equipment installation procedures.
- Exceptional problem-solving and diagnostic capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively.
