About the Role
As an Industrial Automation Specialist, you will serve as the primary technical authority for our facility's control systems, ensuring peak performance and reliability across all manufacturing lines. You will leverage your expertise in PLC programming and system integration to drive operational efficiency, acting as the key escalation point for complex electrical challenges.
Responsibilities- Act as the subject matter expert for plant-wide control systems, including PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and industrial communication networks.
- Diagnose and resolve complex electrical and automation failures to minimize downtime and maximize production output.
- Modify and optimize PLC logic and control programs to enhance equipment reliability and process performance.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to maintenance staff, fostering a culture of high-level problem solving and accountability.
- Execute capital projects and system upgrades, managing the full lifecycle from integration to commissioning.
- Lead root cause analysis initiatives to implement sustainable corrective actions for recurring technical issues.
- Maintain precise documentation, including electrical schematics, system backups, and version control logs.
- Ensure all activities adhere to rigorous safety standards, including electrical safety protocols and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience with a focus on controls and automation.
- Demonstrated proficiency in PLC troubleshooting and programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of 480V electrical systems, VFDs, and motor control circuits.
- Ability to interpret complex electrical schematics and perform system-level diagnostics.
Preferred Skills
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Industrial Technology.
- Experience with industrial networking protocols such as Ethernet/IP or DeviceNet.
- Proficiency in HMI configuration and CMMS software usage.
- Proven track record of leading technical projects or training maintenance teams.
