Our team is looking for a talented CNC Milling Department Manager to take charge of our milling activities, guaranteeing that our output remains both high-quality and highly efficient. To succeed in this role, you should bring a deep background in 3 and 5 axis milling, demonstrate mastery of Work N/C programming, and possess at least five years of leadership experience within a CNC machining environment.
Core Duties
- Direct and supervise the milling team, encompassing operators, programmers, and machinists, to help the department consistently hit production targets and quality benchmarks.
- Organize and sequence milling tasks to streamline production flow and ensure all client delivery dates are satisfied.
- Create precise and efficient CNC programs for 3 and 5 axis equipment utilizing Work N/C software.
- Promote a safer workplace by establishing and strictly upholding rigorous safety standards across the milling floor.
- Perform routine maintenance and diagnostic checks on milling machinery to keep equipment running at optimal performance levels.
- Review ongoing production workflows to pinpoint efficiency gaps and execute necessary adjustments to improve output.
- Oversee the procurement and stock levels of essential milling supplies, raw materials, and tooling.
- Evaluate team performance while offering mentorship and professional growth paths for all milling personnel.
- Guarantee that all operations remain fully aligned with mandatory industry certifications, such as ISO and AS9100.
- Encourage an environment focused on ongoing innovation and process refinement throughout the milling department.
Required Background
- A degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline is highly desirable.
- At least five years of hands-on experience in CNC milling, specifically with 3 and 5 axis machinery.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams with a minimum of five years spent in a manufacturing management capacity.
- Advanced capability in using Work N/C programming tools.
- Comprehensive understanding of milling materials, tooling, and core machining concepts.
- Strong analytical mindset with a sharp eye for detail when solving complex problems.
