About the Role
As an Environmental Compliance Specialist, you will drive the development and optimization of sustainability initiatives and regulatory compliance frameworks within our manufacturing operations. You will serve as the primary technical lead for environmental stewardship, ensuring our facility effectively manages its ecological footprint while maintaining rigorous adherence to federal and state standards.
Responsibilities- Oversee the execution of comprehensive environmental programs, including air quality, water management, waste disposal, and tank integrity.
- Drive continuous improvement by analyzing environmental data to refine reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Lead emergency response efforts and serve as the primary point of contact during regulatory agency inspections.
- Develop and facilitate specialized training modules to foster a culture of environmental awareness across all levels of the organization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best management practices for stormwater and hazardous waste reduction.
- Manage remediation project lifecycles to ensure timely completion and alignment with corporate sustainability goals.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a closely related technical discipline.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience managing environmental programs in a heavy industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in navigating complex regulatory landscapes, including Title V air permits and NPDES requirements.
- Proven ability to translate technical environmental data into actionable operational improvements.
Preferred Skills
- Direct experience with Tier 2 reporting, Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) documentation, and SPCC program management.
- Strong proficiency in environmental data tracking software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on detail-oriented compliance documentation.
