We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our General Ledger (GL) team. This role is responsible for overseeing the month-end close process, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and driving process improvements across accounting operations. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader with deep technical accounting expertise and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a team of GL accountants, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements for completeness and accuracy
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Analyze financial results and variances, providing insights to senior leadership
- Partner cross-functionally with AP, AR, Payroll, and external auditors
- Lead audit support, including preparation of schedules and coordination with external auditors
- Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives within the GL function
- Assist with system implementations, upgrades, or ERP enhancements as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or CPA-eligible strongly preferred
- 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a fast-paced or high-growth environment
- Prior experience managing month-end close in a multi-entity structure
- Background in public accounting (Big 4 or regional firm)
