Senior Associate, Investment Operations
Boston, MA | Hybrid Schedule | Full-Time | $105,000 – $125,000 Base Salary Bonus Benefits

A leading global investment management firm is seeking a Senior Associate, Investment Operations to join one its growing teams. This role sits at the intersection of investment operations, fund accounting, portfolio oversight, and external service provider management, supporting a sophisticated institutional investment platform across global markets and asset classes. Key Responsibilities
Portfolio & Fund Oversight
- Oversee portfolio accounting, custody, and middle-office activities across client portfolios and investment funds
- Investigate and resolve operational discrepancies across internal systems and external service providers
- Partner with custodians, counterparties, prime brokers, and external vendors to support account maintenance and operational workflows
- Support fund launches, collateral activities, trading operations, and operational issue resolution
- Reconcile operational reports and address inquiries from internal and external stakeholders
Account Onboarding & Administration
- Coordinate onboarding activities for separately managed accounts and investment funds
- Prepare and maintain account documentation, operational records, and internal system setups
- Act as a liaison between operations, compliance, fund accounting, and external partners throughout onboarding processes
Fund Administration & Reporting
- Support fund expense management, budgeting, accruals, invoice review, and payment processes
- Assist with regulatory, compliance, tax, and audit-related reporting requirements
- Partner with auditors, administrators, and service providers to support financial statement preparation and operational reviews
- Assist with operational and tax reporting requests including K-1s, Form 5500, and other investor reporting requirements
Operational Strategy & Process Improvement
- Identify and implement workflow enhancements to improve operational scalability, controls, and efficiency
- Support operational governance initiatives and risk reduction efforts across systems and processes
- Participate in strategic operational projects involving automation, data quality improvement, and process optimization
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve operational infrastructure and client servicing capabilities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting, or related field preferred
- 7 years of experience within investment operations, fund accounting, portfolio operations, or related financial services environments
- Strong understanding of portfolio accounting, fund operations, custody relationships, and investment operational workflows
- Experience supporting institutional investment products, separately managed accounts, or investment funds preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working cross-functionally with internal teams and external service providers
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
- Experience with portfolio accounting systems such as Geneva, Advent, or similar platforms preferred
- Exposure to Tableau or data visualization tools is a plus
