We are currently seeking an experienced healthcare executive to lead the strategic and operational direction of our practice. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a results-driven professional with a deep understanding of physician practice management and ambulatory operations. The Executive Director will work in close partnership with hospital leadership to drive growth, improve performance, and ensure alignment with the health system’s mission and values.
Position Overview:
The Executive Director will oversee all aspects of the practice, including clinical operations, financial performance, provider integration, and service line development. The role requires a dynamic leader with strong strategic, operational, and communication skills who can translate organizational goals into actionable plans that enhance patient care, provider engagement, and organizational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic planning, development, and optimization of practice service lines with a focus on growth, access, quality, patient experience, and financial performance.
- Collaborate with hospital executives and administrative partners to engage physicians, advanced practice providers (APPs), and support staff in building high-performing teams.
- Oversee provider recruitment, engagement, retention, and performance, including access targets, productivity expectations, compensation planning, and quality initiatives.
- Ensure seamless integration and alignment of practice services with hospital operations, focusing on continuous improvement and transformation of clinical and business operations.
- Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets; drive financial forecasting, pro-forma development, and performance tracking across practices and service lines.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence in care delivery, aligned with the organization’s core values.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for direct reports; contribute to the standardization of competencies and training across the practice.
- Participate in facility and office planning efforts, committee work, and represent the organization in community partnerships and external stakeholder relationships.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, including physician practice management.
- At least 7 years of hands-on experience managing medical group operations in a hospital or health system setting.
- Proven ability to write business plans, conduct SWOT analyses, and analyze financial statements and pro-formas.
- Strong organizational and leadership capabilities, with the ability to lead through influence in a matrixed environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Health or Business Administration.
- Professional certifications such as CPPS or CMPE.
- Experience working in a complex healthcare system with a focus on integrated service line development.
