This is an excellent opportunity for an organized, customer-focused professional who is eager to gain hands-on experience supporting employee benefits, leave administration, HR systems, and employee services. You'll work closely with employees, insurance providers, and internal teams while building a strong foundation in HR operations with opportunities for professional growth.
What You'll Do
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employees and insurance vendors, assisting with benefits-related questions via phone and email.
- Process employee benefit changes for qualifying life events, including marriage, birth, and other Section 125 changes.
- Administer Medical Support Orders and assist with life insurance claims.
- Support Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) administration by reviewing documentation and approving or denying leave requests in accordance with company policy and federal regulations.
- Coordinate the employee service award program by partnering with vendors to maintain award selections and ensure accurate billing.
- Enter and maintain employee information within the HRIS (Oracle) while ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
- Prepare reports, process documentation, and support HR recordkeeping.
- Interpret HR policies, benefit plan documents, and applicable regulations while providing excellent customer service to employees.
- Collaborate with the HR team on additional projects and responsibilities as needed.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED required; coursework or interest in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Typing speed of approximately 45 WPM.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a passion for helping others.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle confidential information professionally.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Previous office, customer service, administrative, benefits, or claims processing experience is helpful but not required.
- Experience with HRIS systems such as Oracle is a plus but not required.
