Overview
A leading alternative investment platform is seeking a CPA with a blend of public accounting and in-house asset management experience to join its fund finance team. This individual will oversee accounting and financial reporting for CLO and private credit investment vehicles while partnering closely with portfolio management, investor relations, auditors, and fund administrators.
The ideal candidate will come from a hedge fund, private equity, BDC, or alternative asset management environment and bring strong experience across fund accounting, waterfalls, allocations, and financial reporting within structured credit or private credit products.
Responsibilities
- Oversee accounting and financial reporting for CLOs and private credit investment vehicles
- Manage monthly close, NAV reporting, allocations, fund returns, and waterfall calculations
- Supervise third-party fund administrators responsible for investor reporting, audits, capital calls, distributions, and quarterly statements
- Review audited financial statements and related footnote disclosures
- Analyze distribution waterfalls and performance fee calculations in accordance with governing documents
- Monitor compliance related to fund credit facilities and maintain understanding of underlying portfolio assets
- Respond to investor and internal stakeholder inquiries regarding NAVs, performance reporting, and fund activity
- Partner with auditors, tax advisors, investor relations, valuation, and portfolio management teams
- Support SEC and regulatory reporting requirements as needed
- Assist with process improvements, operational enhancements, and implementation of new controls and procedures
Requirements
- CPA required
- 7 years of accounting or fund finance experience within private credit, CLOs, direct lending, structured products, hedge funds, or alternative investments
- Combination of public accounting and in-house asset management experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of fund accounting, financial reporting, allocations, and waterfalls
- Experience overseeing third-party fund administrators preferred
- Background within an asset manager, hedge fund, private equity firm, or BDC preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
Salary : $180,000 - $210,000
