This is a hands-on role for someone who understands property accounting beyond basic transaction processing. You’ll manage portfolio-level financials, identify issues before they become problems, and help maintain accurate, audit-ready reporting.
What You’ll Do
- Own full-cycle month-end close for assigned properties
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, reclasses, and prepaid amortization
- Complete bank, loan, and intercompany reconciliations
- Maintain depreciation schedules and WIP tracking
- Review the general ledger and perform variance analysis
- Ensure financial statements are accurate, complete, and delivered on time
- Partner with asset management and operations to research and resolve discrepancies
- Yardi experience required
- 3–5 years of property accounting experience; commercial real estate preferred
- Ability to independently manage month-end close
- Strong understanding of debits, credits, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, and depreciation
- Intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and basic analysis
- Experience supporting multiple properties or entities is a plus
