This is a pivotal leadership role focused on $20M ground‑up projects, partnering closely with operations, ownership, and executive teams from concept through GMP and turnover.
This position will oversee all preconstruction activities, providing strategic leadership across estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management while driving consistency, accuracy, and profitability across the pipeline.
- Lead preconstruction efforts on large‑scale projects ($20M-$100M ) from conceptual design through final GMP
- Oversee estimating, budgeting, value engineering, constructability reviews, and scope alignment
- Manage bid strategies, subcontractor engagement, and market pricing analysis
- Partner with operations to ensure seamless handoff from preconstruction to execution
- Support pursuit strategy, client presentations, and early‑stage project planning
- Mentor and develop estimators and preconstruction managers
- Drive continuous improvement in preconstruction processes, tools, and risk controls
- 10-15 years of experience in preconstruction / estimating within a general contractor or design‑build environment
- Proven leadership on ground‑up commercial or industrial projects over $20M
- Strong background in conceptual estimating, GMP development, and subcontractor buy‑out strategy
- Experience working directly with ownership, developers, and executive stakeholders
- Ability to lead teams, make high‑level commercial decisions, and influence project outcomes
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
