We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role is responsible for managing general ledger accounting, month-end and year-end close processes, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules for management reporting.
- Analyze financial results, identify variances, and provide recommendations to leadership.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal accounting controls.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Coordinate and support annual external audits and internal audit requests.
- Prepare supporting documentation for tax filings and regulatory reporting.
- Review fixed assets, depreciation schedules, prepaid expenses, and amortization.
- Assist with cash management, bank reconciliations, and treasury activities.
- Partner with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Operations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, automate workflows, and strengthen internal controls.
- Support ERP implementations, system upgrades, and process improvement initiatives.
- Mentor junior accounting staff and provide technical accounting guidance as needed.
- Perform special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- CPA designation or CPA candidate preferred.
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Public accounting experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and formulas.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage Intacct, or similar accounting software.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
