We are seeking an Electrical Maintenance Mechanic Manager to lead and oversee all electrical maintenance activities within our facility. This role is responsible for managing hands-on electrical maintenance work while also providing leadership, planning, and oversight for maintenance personnel, equipment reliability, and safety compliance.
The ideal candidate is a working manager—someone who can lead a team, plan maintenance activities, and still jump in when complex electrical troubleshooting is required.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Oversee and perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems, machinery, and production equipment.
- Work with 120/240/480V systems, including single-phase and three-phase power.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical failures related to motors, drives, control panels, PLC-connected equipment, and automation systems.
- Ensure minimal downtime through proactive maintenance and rapid response to electrical issues.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, schedule, and support a team of electrical maintenance mechanics and/or technicians.
- Provide hands-on guidance, coaching, and technical leadership.
- Assign daily work orders and prioritize maintenance tasks based on production needs.
- Support training and development of maintenance staff.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
- Develop and manage preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for electrical systems and equipment.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, documentation, and reports.
Safety, Compliance & Standards
- Ensure all electrical work complies with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and company safety standards.
- Enforce lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and safe work practices.
- Participate in safety audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
Collaboration & Planning
- Partner with production, engineering, and facilities teams to support operational goals.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and plant improvement projects.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Previous experience in a lead, supervisor, or manager role preferred.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Industrial electrical systems (120/240/480V)
- Motors, motor controls, and VFDs
- Electrical schematics and troubleshooting
- Solid understanding of industrial safety standards and electrical codes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal electrical or electromechanical training or certification.
- Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to balance hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities.
