The Superintendent is responsible for leading day-to-day field operations on commercial construction projects, with a strong focus on safety, quality, schedule adherence, and trade coordination. This role serves as the on-site leader representing the company and ensuring projects are executed efficiently and in alignment with project documents and client expectations.
** This role will include occasional travel (maybe 1-2 a year) for projects - NY or NC **
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all on-site construction activities from mobilization through closeout.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to maintain project schedule and sequencing.
- Enforce jobsite safety standards and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Review drawings, specifications, and project plans to verify field execution aligns with contract requirements.
- Monitor work quality, resolve field issues, and proactively address constructability concerns.
- Maintain daily logs, progress reports, and other project documentation.
- Conduct site meetings, coordinate inspections, and support project turnover activities.
- Communicate regularly with project management, clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Anticipate schedule impacts, identify risks, and recommend solutions to keep work moving forward.
- Promote a professional, organized, and collaborative jobsite environment.
Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in commercial construction supervision, preferably with ground-up and interior renovation work.
- Proven ability to lead multiple trades on active job sites.
- Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, means and methods, safety practices, and quality control.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience maintaining daily reports, tracking progress, and coordinating inspections.
- Proficiency with construction management software is preferred.
- OSHA training or equivalent safety credentials preferred.
Preferred Background
- Experience with office buildings, interior fit-outs, renovations, security upgrades, AV upgrades, and corporate dining or similar commercial work.
- Familiarity with fast-paced client-driven projects and occupied environments.
- Demonstrated success delivering projects on time and with minimal disruption.
Salary : $100,000 - $130,000
