Who You Are
You are pursuing a Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety/Health, Safety Management, or related degree. You enjoy educating personnel on the safety and health risks that must be considered when planning and executing commercial construction jobsite related tasks. You can motivate jobsite personnel to implement safety protocol to protect them from work-related injuries and illnesses. You portray a positive attitude and demonstrate professionalism.
What We Are Looking For
A Safety Intern eager to gain hands-on experience and become part of a dedicated team. This 12-week internship will begin at the conclusion of the spring semester. This is a 40-hour per week, Monday through Friday position.
- The ideal candidate is someone with:
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations
- The ability to assist Safety Managers Field Leadership with:
- Daily jobsite visits and inspections
- Daily job tasks and compliance in the field
- Identifying, analyzing, and mitigating construction site hazards
- Completing Job Hazard Analysis forms
- Ensuring that weekly Toolbox Talks are performed, and the topics are site-specific
- Conducting safety meetings and safety training on the jobsite
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills
- Ability to analyze and quickly resolve issues
- The ability to visit and walk jobsites within the Pittsburgh area. Jobsites include those within a 3-hour radius of Pittsburgh.
