What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crisis Professional position at LifeWays?
Are you passionate about helping individuals through their most vulnerable moments? As a Crisis Professional, you’ll provide compassionate, trauma-sensitive support to community members experiencing behavioral health crises—both onsite and in the community.
In this role, you’ll deliver recovery-focused crisis interventions, observe and communicate critical changes in consumers’ mental and physical health, and help ensure a safe, supportive environment. You’ll mentor and empower individuals toward crisis resolution, community inclusion, and greater independence—promoting recovery and resiliency every step of the way.

Assist with community resource and entitlement linkages

Support inpatient placement coordination with hospitals and providers

Provide crisis transport and residential unit support as needed

Facilitate or assist with skill-building and support groups

Conduct follow-up and satisfaction surveys

Perform essential documentation and administrative support

Safely implement the Safety Care crisis intervention model, including therapeutic de-escalation and holds
Required Education/Certification/Licensure
- Crisis Professional I: Bachelor’s-level degree from a human services field and two years of relevant experience in behavioral health services for bachelor’s,
- Crisis Professional II: Master’s level degree from a human services field and one year of relevant experience
- At least 40 hours of relevant training before primary response to any crisis
- Must possess a valid U.S motor vehicle operator’s license, and successfully complete motor vehicle record check.
- Master degree in related human service field with one year of relevant experience
- Behavioral Health Crisis Provider Training 40-hour (Or approved equivalent)
